A round-up of this week’s news in brief.

Nandos
 

Consultancy BuckleyGrayYeoman has designed the interiors for Nando’s restaurant in Loughton, Essex. According to the consultancy, the look “responds to the unique Art Deco architecture” of the building –  a former 1920s car dealership. This is the ninth Nando’s outlet BuckleyGrayYoeman has completed.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have won the Paneria London Design Medal, given out at this year’s London Design Festival to a designer or designers who “have distinguished themselves within the industry and demonstrated consistent design excellence over a number of years”, according to organisers. Architect Richard Rogers was awarded the Coutts Lifetime Achievement Medal; Poke founder Nicolas Roope was awarded the Perrier-Jouet Design Entrepreneur Medal and Roland Lamb, designer of music production tool the Seaboard, was awarded the Swarovski Emerging Talent Medal.

Manchester-based consultancy Shoot the Moon has appointed Derek Baker as head of digital strategy.

The Art Form
 

Graphic designer Andrew Townsend has launched new arts Magazine The Art Form. The publication shows the results of forms sent out to artists, who responded with text and images, often creating entirely new, original work for the magazine. You can view it online here.

Imagination has designed the stand for Canon at thus year’s Photokina event. The stand is “narrative driven”, according to Imagination, and uses RFID technology to create a “virtual and digital” stand that allows visitors to create shareable content.

Astro Bites
 

Dragon Rouge has created the branding and packaging for Astro Bites – a new children’s product for Nairns Oatcakes. The packaging for the biscuits shows space-scenes featuring aliens, rockets and stars.

Illustrator and graphic designer Nick Purser has created the branding for Conflict Kitchen London – a pop-up restaurant created as part of the Talking Peace Festival series of events hosted by International Alert to ”celebrate peace and the power of words in resolving conflicts”. The interiors feature signage by Lana Alana and paintings by artists including Pure Evil  Syrian artist Ibrahim Fahrir, 616, Lana Alana and Dan Kitchener.

True perfection
 

ButterflyCannon has designed the branding and packaging for new True Perfection premium skincare range by Oriflame Cosmetics. “The objective of the design was to create a range that delivers product performance with a younger feminine appearance”, says ButterflyCannon.

Turnbull Grey created a print campaign for London museum The Wallace Collection. The designs aim to create a more “modern” identity for the collection, according to the designers. The consultancy was appointed to the work in June this year.

Jerwood Visual Arts has announced the call for entries for Jerwood Makers Open 2015. Designers, artists and collaborative practices working across craft and design can submit their proposals until 4 November 2014. For more information visit the Artist Opportunities page here.

Embrace has created a new identity for recruitment consultancy Major Players. It also designed a new website which uses photographs of “objects, animals and people that are engaging in and celebrating a way of doing things in a major way”, says the consultancy.

La Camionette
 

Consultancy Ragged Edge has created what it describes as “the most intimate Martini bar” in the back for a van, for Grey Goose vodka. The bar can only fit two guests and one “mixologist” inside it, who will give people a “cocktail consultation” and a bespoke drink.

The Design & Technology Association has launched a cycling completion for children aged between eleven and fourteen year-olds, tasking them with creating designs that look to “transform” the sport, say organisers. Wollf Olins has appointed Camilla Grey as global head of content strategy and Anthony Galvin as technical director at its London office. Sean Barrett has joined the consultancy’s San Francisco office as creative director.
