Nissan – designing the car of the future
In this video, we explore what goes on in the very secretive London-based studio, Nissan Design Europe.
The crossover car Qashqai was conceived in Nissan’s Paddington-based design studio. But the designers in London are not resting on their laurels. At Geneva Motor Show, Nissan unveiled a Qashqai concept car, with many new features including the hotly anticipated autonomous drive.
In this documentary, we ask designers at Nissan Design Europe how they design cars to future-proof the brand. We speak to Koji Nagano, vice president at Nissan Design Europe about the role of designers at Nissan and interview Darryl Scriven, design manager at NDE about the new concept car, and how the London-based studio competes with Nissan’s other studios around the world to get their designs turned into cars.
We also chat to Steve Ransom, digital project lead about how he brings the designs to life.
