Urban Golf tees off new London store with ‘quintessentially English’ work by Mammal

Mammal Design has created a new website, wall graphics and marketing material for sports retailer Urban Golf, which is set to open a new branch in Kensington High Street, west London.

Urban Golf currently has two venues, in London’s Soho and Smithfield, where visitors can play on state-of-the-art golf simulators.

The Kensington High Street venue, designed by architect Squire and Partners, is set to open on 15 March.

Mammal has been working with Urban Golf since the company was founded in 2004, according to creative director Joe Hosp.

The consultancy worked on the original website, as well as on graphics for the Soho and Smithfield venues.

Mammal has collaborated with Brazilian illustrator Eduardo Recife on the Kensington High Street site graphics (pictured), which Hosp says are ’quintessentially English’ and feature Victorian and Edwardian golfing imagery.

The consultancy has also developed marketing materials including phone box advertisements and staff T-shirts.

The new website launches this week. Hosp says, ’We’ve been wanting to redesign the site for quite a while. The most important thing we want it to do is to present information very clearly and get the concept of urban golf across as quickly as possible.’
