Number 10 hosts Design Council talks

The Design Council is set to hold an extraordinary meeting at Number 10 Downing Street tomorrow.

The meeting will be attended by council members and ministers and officials from a number of Government departments, including Transport Minister Sadiq Khan, Communities Secretary John Denham, Innovation, Universities and Skills Minister David Lammy and Sion Simon, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Creative Industries.

A spokesman for the council says the meeting will highlight projects it is working on to help business and the Government in the recession, as well as looking at further ways in which the Government could use design to improve the performance of business and public services.

The event is part of an ongoing discussion the Design Council is having with all political parties.
