Selfridges makes use of Third Space interiors

Third Space has designed a luxury beauty products shop-in-shop, launched on Monday, for Selfridges’ London flagship store.

Called Beauty Lab, the in-store shop is Selfridges’ response to what it sees as a gap in its offering in the speciality treatment market, says Claudia Lucas, head of buying – beauty. It features high end and niche beauty products from brands including Ren, Darphin, Nuxe and Caudalie. Third Space was appointed to the project in May and carried out the work for a fee of around £15 000.

The project included a redesign of Selfridges’ pens area, also launched on Monday. Third Space has also refurbished the hat department which will be launched next month.

Third Space managing director Anthony Parham says the design was done on a tight budget with a ‘two-year life span’ in mind.

Beauty Lab is on Selfridges’ ground floor in an area that is due to be developed in two years’ time. Selfridges is submitting a planning application by the end of November to extend the rear of the building to create an extra 9290m2 of retail space.
