Spencer Landor gives ‘friendly’ look to gallery

A new London art gallery pledging not to deal in arrogance and intimidation, apparent among its Cork Street rivals, opens in October. Spencer Landor created the identity, stationery, invitations and catalogue for Proud Galleries off London’s Strand.

The logo reflects a friendly approach, incorporating paint splats into the classical typeface, says a spokesman for Spencer Landor. “The palette of colours – black, purple, orange and green – will help ensure the freshness of the identity scheme over time. We dropped these splats in as a little bit of a joke really,” comments consultancy creative partner John Spencer.
