Let’s see if regional design networks would sink or swim

Regarding your article about the funding of regional design networks (News Analysis, DW 7 January), as someone who has run a design group for the past decade and as an entrepreneur, I would welcome the end of public funding for these kinds of organisations.

When faced with the realities of business, these organisations will need to think about what they deliver, and adapt what they do to tailor for a real demand or to appeal to commercial sponsors.

Many will be unsustainable and disappear, but those which remain will be far more in tune with the needs of our sector and the commercial realities we face every day.
