Sheffield consultancy Scope has acquired multimedia firm Tapir Communications to expand its multimedia business.

The firm will not disclose the sum for the acquisition, but it has involved hiring both the partners behind Tapir.

Andrew McCormick will look after business development and David Moore will oversee programming.

The investment has already paid off, according to a Scope spokesman. Scope will now handle the development, launch and maintenance of the Boddingtons Website for the brewer Whitbread. The Website will launch by September and will be consistent with the brand’s irreverent Northern theme.

Scope chief executive Charles Buddery says the acquisition was triggered partly by client demand. “We could sub-contract but it is good to have this talent and capability in-house.”
