Regarding the recent Voxpop question, ’What is your favourite ever football strip and why?’ (DW 12 May) my choice has to be Blackburn Rovers.
It is original like their play. It is not a solid red or blue, like so many other more fashionable clubs this has a ’design’. It is heraldic and graphic in using the harlequin pattern of half-white/half-blue or in football parlance, it’s a shirt of two halves.
Finally, there is the splash of the Lancashire Red Rose, which reminds you that this is truly an historic and iconic British football shirt of Red, White and Blue.
