Pianist scores at Design Show

Dominic Hartley picked up several jobs at The Design Show – to play the piano at weddings.

Dominic is a friend of Piano Creative Digital Services’ Kevin Ward. He was wheeled in to strum his funky stuff at the group’s stand.

American Pie was the most popular request, followed by Song for Guy and Love Cats by the Stray Cats. The Piano Man, Summertime, Day Dream Believer and The Long and Winding Road were also in demand. Bottom of the pile were It had to be You – the personal favourite of a DW staff member – and the accompaniment to the act of stripping.

“It put a smile on people’s faces when they walked past, and then they’d listen, then look at our work,” says Ward.

Hartley was obviously the show’s keynote feature.
