Syzygy plans further digital acquisitions after Hi-Res deal

Interactive group Syzygy is to expand further into the digital market and consider acquisitions across eastern Europe.

The news follows its acquisition of an 80 per cent stake in London-based digital consultancy Hi-Res.

According to Syzygy’s chief executive Marco Seiler, ‘We believe that in the future there will no longer be a separation between on- and off-line. The next step is to look into other countries. We are interested in eastern Europe, which is an example of a market that has become more important to our clients. The digital market is one that is really taking off.’

Last week, Syzygy announced that it was buying 80 per cent of Hi-Res for an undisclosed sum. Hi-Res’s German founders, Florian Schmitt and Alexandra Jugovic, will continue to run the consultancy independently within the Syzygy group. Its client list includes Nokia, Sony, EMI, Adidas and Diesel.

In 2007, Syzygy acquired two digital media groups, London-based Unique Digital and German group GFEH, Hamburg.
