Fraser-Steele leaves Council

Design Council director of education Moira Fraser-Steele is leaving to set up her own business. She is being replaced by Hilary Cottam, who becomes director – learning.

Cottam is currently director of education body Schoolworks, and the changeover will take place at the beginning of July. Fraser-Steele is launching “a totally new venture, unrelated to education”, says Design Council chief executive Andrew Summers.

The slight change of role reflects the Design Council’s move into learning as a broader concept [than just education], he adds.
