Robert Lush

Robert Lush, the founder of Richmond Design Group and a prominent figure in international hotel design for more than 30 years, has passed away peacefully and unexpectedly after a brief illness, aged 67.

His most famous project was London’s Dorchester Hotel, which reopened in October 1990. His most notable projects in more recent years, operating as Robert Lush Associates, included the new casino at 50 St James’, which is due to open shortly.

Bob Lush, a design guru, intellectual and linguist, was an inspiration to those who worked with him. Those who were fortunate enough to have known him as friend or colleague will remain richer for the experience. He had a sharp wit and ready sense of humour. With his passing also goes a love of design and wealth of knowledge unlikely to be seen again.
