Inspired – Paul Jenkins, Ranch

Inspired by paper stock! Yes, I know its very sad. When we start a print job at Ranch one of our first points of inspiration is the material.

I can never bring myself to use bog standard silk for a piece of print when there is such a wealth of amazing stocks out there, and very often not much more expensive than normal paper (on short runs, that is).

We have now gone as far as creating our own paper file. It lists stock under generic headings such as luxury, packboards, kraft and tracing, which saves having to look through lots of different swatch books each time.

I am never happier than when I have a big delivery coming of different paper samples for a job. Sorting through them and putting them together in different combinations is pure joy.
