Blind Site features the work of 12 emerging artists from eight different countries, who have completed an MA in photographic studies at the University of Westminster. Taking on issues as diverse as identity, urbanity and aesthetics, the artists’ work ranges from black and white photography to digital media and stereoscopy.

Intelligent Design, until 14 November, showcases a range of products created by designers at Sheffield Hallam University in collaboration with regional businesses. The exhibition uses real case studies to demonstrate the entire design process.

Landscape paintings that fuse elements of Chinese painting and contemporary abstraction by American-born artist John Hubbard show until 29 September.

Venue: Six Chapel Row Contemporary Art, off Queen Square, Bath BA1 1HN.

From 5 September until 12 October Jim Partridge’s woodwork, which ranges from bowls to furniture and bridges, is exhibited alongside images of his environmental projects.

Venue: Manchester Art Gallery, Mosley Street, Manchester M2 3JL.

British film artist Isaac Julien’s installations Baltimore and Paradise Omeros and related photographic works explore the aesthetic, social and psychic aspects of space, location and social geography. The work shows from 9 September until 11 October.
