Nucleus trials PC banking at First Direct

First Direct is trialing a 24- hour PC banking service which will eventually offer balance of accounts, transactions, payment billing and money movements.

Nucleus Design, which started working on the project last August, liaised with First Direct’s retained consultancy The Attik Design and, created interface designs. ICL built the application.

“We have created a complete identity for the application. It will create new standards for on-line banking,” says Nucleus managing director Peter Matthews.

Meanwhile Nucleus has brought in former Siegel & Gale senior corporate identity consultant Nick Sheaff as the board director responsible for strategic corporate identity.

“Nick’s appointment is another key step in our objective of establishing Nucleus as a world-class consultancy,” says Matthews. Sheaff adds: “Nucleus has a very well established retail branding background and is moving into corporate identity and interactive design.”

A Siegel & Gale spokeswoman says: “We are growing and recruiting.” She could not say whether Sheaff would be replaced.
