Johnston Works and SVI Design bag European Design Awards

British consultancies Johnston Works and SVI Design have both picked up silver awards at the 2010 European Design Awards.

Johnston Works won in the magazine category for its Brunswick project, while SVI Design picked up the award in the packaging category for its Ivancic I Sinovi packaging system.

A total of 74 bronze awards, 59 silver awards and 26 gold awards were given out at the awards ceremony, which was held during the European Design Festival, which ran from 27-30 May in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Studio Dumbar founder Gert Dumbar was brought into the European Design Awards hall of fame, and the best of show prize went to Swiss practice Raffinerie AG for its building for the 2000-Watt Society in Zurich.

The jury prize went to Dutch consultancy Strange Attractors for the Letterlab project, and the agency of the year prize went to fellow Dutch group Lava.
