To boot

If car boot fairs conjure up images of mouldy books, abandoned – and chewed – childhood lego and knick-knacks that even you’re great-gran wouldn’t stomach, then it might be time for a rethink.

Back again for the seventh year on the 19 June is the Vauxhaul Art Car Boot Fair, with an especially strong line up featuring stalls from Damien Hirst, Peter Blake, Chapman Brothers, Tracey Emin and Vivienne Westwood.

Sculptor Polly Morgan will be creating a edition of 30 taxidermy works for the fair. Julia Royse, independent curator and director of Posted will be collaborating with emerging artist duo ‘The Girls’ to transform a Vauxhall postal van into a shrine to our wonderful postal heritage selling beautiful stationery created by artists including Tracey Emin.

Other entertainment includes the Big Fat Gypsy Fortune Teller and Cinemoi Can Can Girls, who will help you smash some crockery at their Boules in a China Shop.

Vauxhall Art Car Boot is on 19 June at Old Truman Brewery, 146 Brick Lane, London, E1, 12-6pm.
