Nick Hornby’s Ministry of Stories opens

Author Nick Hornby has launched a new space for young writers, the Ministry of Stories, with branding by We Made This and Web design by Manifest.

The new venture, which is located in London’s Hoxton, is a space for one-to-one mentoring and workshops to help young people improve their language skills, increase their ability to communicate and create stories.

The interior space has been designed by architect Andrew Lock from Lock Rennie, in collaboration with Catherine Greig of Make Good and David Ogunmuyiwa of Architecture Doing Place.

To enter the space visitors must enter a secret door in retail outlet Hoxton Street Monster Supplies, which has been also been given new interiors by the design team. Illustrator Heather Sloane has created a number of illustrations for the new space.

The shop will sell ‘monster supplies’ such as Tinned Fear, Organ Marmalade and Zombie Freshmint, with packaging design by We Made This.

We Made This director Alistair Hall says, ‘It’s been so heart-warming to see so many different people giving up their skills and time for free.’
