Hal’s Bar & Grill interiors, by Mystery and Relativity

Consultancy Mystery and architectural practice Relativity have designed the interiors for Hal’s Bar & Grill in Los Angeles, following the restaurant’s move from its original venue in the Venice area of the city to Playa Vista.

The new interiors nod to the restaurant’s association with the local art scene over the last three decades, featuring a gallery space with regularly changing exhibitions and bespoke artworks from the likes of Ed Moses, Laddie John Dill, Larry Bell, Kwaku Alston and Paul Michael Glaser.

A marble and concrete island bar with copper inlay detailing is the focal point of the new space.

It also features leather booths and concrete table tops based on the restaurant’s original seating, and a bespoke, spiralled wineglass chandelier.
