Hand cast concrete letters and numbers, by An Artful Life

An Artful Life has created these hand-cast letters and numbers, which are now being sold in the Barbican gallery and the National Centre for Craft and Design.

Each letter comes packaged in a matchbox and the entire product has been conceived and designed by An Artful Life’s interior architect Kate Whitfield, who says she was inspired by her love of concrete.

Whitfield says: “I’ve loved the material concrete for years and also have a love for graphic text and typefaces. I was never sure if it would work to cast concrete in these moulds but when it did it was a joy to work through the whole process, and I continually enjoy seeing how people use them”.
