Poetry Foundation rebrand, by Pentagram

Pentagram partner Michael Bierut has led a project to design a new visual identity for non-profit publisher the Poetry Foundation.

The rebrand encompasses the foundation’s logo, print materials and magazine Poetry, and coincides with the redesign of its website by Chicago-based consultancy Fuzzy Math.

The new identity looks to retain the support of existing poetry fans, as well as attract new audiences.

Pentagram has put the foundation’s name at the heart of the identity, with the word “poetry” appearing in various different typefaces and styles to highlight that the artform is “always evolving and forever new”, says Bierut.

The Poetry Foundation’s new identity has now rolled out.
