Rado Star Prize shortlist, by various

Watchmaker Rado and London Design Festival tradeshow Designjunction have announced the shortlisted designs for the inaugural edition of the Rado Star Prize UK.

Young designers from all over the country were asked to submit a range of projects spanning interior, industrial and technology design.

All of the projects respond to the theme of “Design Meets Time”. The shortlist includes a 180-degree lamp that uses light as an indicator of time; a glassware piece created using a recording of the maker’s breath that has been translated into a three-dimensional mould; and an adaptable chair that functions as a cradle, bouncer and chair depending on the age of the user.

The 10 shortlisted designs will go on display at Designjunction from 21-24 September 2017. One winner will be announced during the tradeshow, and will be awarded £5,000 and a Rado Ceramica watch.
