Gpstudio has designed the interiors for The Whisky Shop’s new store in Paris’ Place de la Madeleine. The consultancy has stripped back the interiors to highlight the space’s original features, such as the staircase.

The shop also includes modern features, including a space hosted by Diageo on the upper floor dedicated to whisky brand Johnnie Walker and the ground floor Angel’s Room, which is a small chamber lit by LED wings that can be used to host events such as master distiller tastings.

Gregor Jackson, partner at Gpstudio, says: “We’re immensely proud of the Whisky Shop in Paris. It’s a complex historic site, but the result respects the original architecture and juxtaposes modern furniture.”
