Mr Bingo goes West

Illustrator Mr Bingo is set to give a talk in Bristol next week, as part of the West of England Design Forum’s Design Matters series.

So much contempt.
So much contempt.

Bingo’s wonderful work has been seen in the likes of The New Yorker and Wired Magazine, while his clients range from Microsoft to The Might Boosh.

One of Design Week’s favourite Mr Bingo projects his been his Hate Mail. A nice counterpoint to slushy billet-doux, this saw him send personal illustrated insults in the post to people, in return for £40 and the name and address of the desired recipient.

These were serialised in a book, showcasing highlights such as ‘Dear Tim, You’re a massive git’, and ‘Dear Stephen, you disappoint me on every level’.

West of England Design Forum says, ‘Mr Bingo prides himself on illustrating the weird, wacky and wonderful, and thankfully still finds the time to tour the country to spread his valued words of wisdom.’

Mr Bingo’s talk takes place on 16 July at the Arnolfini 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol BS1 4QA. Tickets cost £12, with £10 concessions.
