Artist and writer Peter Kuper has illustrated and released a book looking at life in Mexican city Oaxaca.

Ruins, published by SelfMadeHero, is based on the artist’s own experiences of living in Mexico, and focuses on environmental and political issues.

It also looks at the author’s “love of entomology”, as insects appear frequently throughout the story and the readers follow a butterfly’s journey through different “social, economic and natural” landscapes, says the publisher.

The book is published 17 September, and will be available to buy via SelfMadeHero’s website for £19.99.
